Today I'm linking up for another week of "Letters to my Former Self."
This week's questions:
Describe your first date with your now current partner.
Did you feel any "butterflies" on your first couple of encounters?
Did you have any indication it would later be the "real deal?"
I remember seeing a voicemail from Tim on my phone. I had never given him my number so I was a bit confused about this. Tim and I had chatted a few times and become casual friends but had never exchanged numbers. We were both casually dating other people at the time. I listened to his voicemail and smiled from ear to ear at the sound of his voice.
It went something like this. Uhh hi, this is Tim from church. I'm supposed to make a dessert for Thanksgiving and I was wondering if you had any ideas. I thought you might have some good recipes and was wondering if you would want to help me make something. You could bring your roommates or something too if you want. Anyways, heres my number...call me back if you want to get together.

I called him back and we arranged to meet up that night. I brought my roommate Hailee with me and we knocked on his door. Tim's roommate, Tom, was there as well. We all went to the grocery store and got the ingredients to make an apple crisp recipe. The four of us had a ton of fun. I felt an instant connection with Tim. We hung out and waited for the apple crisp to bake in the oven. This is super embarrassing but I actually already had a date planned that night but was so excited to spend time with Tim that I could tell him no. I kept texting my original date and pushing back the time of our date. I didn't want to leave Tim's apartment. I finally had to tell Tim I had to go and off I went. I do not recommend two dates in one night! Bad idea.

It was a great night and we had a lot of fun but I didn't have a lot of thoughts about if Tim was "the one" or not. I had dated a lot of not so great guys leading up to Tim and had made a decision to seek out guys with really great hearts and good intentions. Tim really stuck out to me and thats why I decided to try to get him to notice me. It was such a breath of fresh air to finally get to spend some time with him. I am grateful every day that I made that decision. He encourages me and pushes me to be better every day. Everyone that meets him loves him. He is such a great guy and I'm so happy to call him mine.
